Website design for plumbers in Greater Manchester

Picture someone with water coming through the kitchen ceiling. They’re on their phone, they’re stressed, and they’ll ring whoever looks like they can help, fast. That’s who your website is for.

The short version

A good plumber’s website doesn’t need to be clever. It needs to answer four questions fast. What do you do? Do you cover my area? Can I trust you? How do I reach you right now?

Get those four right and everything else is a bonus.

Put your number everywhere

Your phone number should be at the top of every page, as a button people can tap to call. Nobody wants to scroll to the bottom of a page to find it while water’s dripping on their head.

If you’d rather people message first, add WhatsApp next to it. And keep the number the same everywhere. Website, Google Business Profile, van, invoices. One number people recognise.

Say where you work

List the towns and areas you actually cover. Stockport, Cheadle, Bramhall, Hazel Grove, whatever’s true for you. Someone should know in a couple of seconds whether you’ll come out to them.

You don’t need a separate page for every postcode. A clear list does the job, and it’s honest.

Be straight about emergencies

If you do emergency call-outs, say when. Evenings? Weekends? Only certain areas? If there’s a call-out charge, say so up front. People appreciate knowing before they ring.

And only say “24/7” if someone really does pick up at 3am. Customers remember when that promise isn’t kept.

Show you’re qualified

If you work on gas, you have to be on the Gas Safe Register by law. Customers are told to check, and they can search the register by business name, registration number or phone number. So make it easy. Put your registration on the site and link to the register.

Not all plumbers do gas work, and that’s fine. Just be clear about what you do. Add any other accreditations and insurance you hold, and never show a badge you’re not entitled to.

Name the jobs you do

Boiler installs. Servicing. Leaks. Bathrooms. Blocked drains. Radiators. Use the words your customers use, not trade jargon. A line or two on each helps people decide whether to ring you.

It also helps Google and AI assistants understand what you offer, which matters when someone asks them for a plumber nearby.

Real work beats stock photos

A handful of photos from real jobs, each with a sentence on what the problem was and what you did, will do more for you than any stock image of a smiling man with a spanner. Use photos and reviews you’ve got permission to share.

Keep the quote form short

Ask for the job, the postcode and the best way to get back to them. That’s it. You’ll know what you’re pricing before you ring back, and they won’t give up halfway through a long form.

Questions plumbers ask us

How much does a plumber’s website cost with Voqal?

There’s no build fee on our monthly plans. Basic is £49 a month for up to five pages, with hosting, security, backups and up to 15 minutes of content edits each month. Plus is £69 a month for up to ten pages, with website chat, basic SEO and AI search setup, and up to 30 minutes of edits. Your domain stays yours.

Can the website show the towns I cover?

Yes. We list the towns and areas you actually work in, so someone in Stockport, Oldham or Salford can tell straight away whether you’ll come out to them.
